Syntherma Apps — Privacy Policy

This policy applies to all mobile apps published by Syntherma OÜ, including the CCSE App (study aid for the Conocimiento Constitucional y Sociocultural exam) and Pitiüses Bus (offline bus map for Eivissa and Formentera), and to any other Syntherma app unless that app's own policy says otherwise.
The short version
  • No personal data is collected.
  • No user accounts. No sign-up, no email required.
  • No analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking SDKs.
  • No backend operated by us. Nothing the app does sends data to a Syntherma server.
  • A small amount of non-personal data is stored on your device only when an app needs it to remember your preferences (for example, your language choice). It never leaves your device.
  • Location is used only by apps that need it for their core function (e.g. Pitiüses Bus showing the nearest bus stop), only while the app is open, and never sent off the device.
Information we collect
None. No Syntherma app requires an account, asks for personal information, or includes analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Information stored on your device
To make an app work, some non-personal data may be stored locally on your device only, using the operating system's standard preference storage. This data never leaves your device, is not linked to your identity, and is removed when you delete the app.
CCSE App
  • Your last exam score and total (to show "last score" on the home screen).
  • Your chosen interface language.
  • Your chosen exam edition.
Pitiüses Bus
  • The full bus stop, route and timetable dataset for Eivissa and Formentera is bundled with the app and read only from the device.
  • No user preferences are persisted in this version.
Location
Some Syntherma apps use the device's location for their core function. When they do, they use the standard iOS / Android "while in use" permission, and your location is processed on the device only — it is held in memory while the app is running and discarded when you close the app. It is never transmitted to a Syntherma server and is not shared with any third party.
Pitiüses Bus
The app reads your location while it is open in order to:
  1. Show your position on the map as a moving dot.
  1. Work out which bus stop is closest to you and what the next buses from that stop are.
You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in the iOS Settings app under Settings → Pitiüses Bus → Location. The app will still show the map, routes and timetables; only the live "nearest stop" view will be unavailable.
CCSE App
The CCSE App does not use location.
Network use
The CCSE App is fully offline. Pitiüses Bus is offline for all bus data, routes and timetables; the only network use is map tile loading through Apple Maps (iOS) or Google Maps (Android) and standard operating-system services. Map providers' privacy practices are described at:
The Syntherma developer does not see this map-tile traffic.
The only other network activity in any Syntherma app occurs if you tap an external link (for example, to the Instituto Cervantes website or to syntherma.com), which opens in your browser and is governed by that site's own privacy policy.
Children's privacy
Our apps are rated 4+ and do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
Third-party content
Some Syntherma apps reference publicly available material:
  • CCSE App — practice questions reference the official manuals or reference data. The app is an independent, unofficial study aid and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Instituto Cervantes or the Spanish Ministry of Justice.
  • Pitiüses Bus — timetables are derived from publicly available schedules from the operators (busformentera.com and alsaibiza.es). Stop coordinates are derived from OpenStreetMap. The app is an independent, unofficial companion and is not affiliated with the bus operators or any island authority.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date. The current version will always be the one in effect.
